Cutover checklist

Before, during and after a move, built from the console’s own steps. It prints on one A4 page.

Before

Add one profile for each account, source and destination. Docs
Refresh discovery so the catalog of buckets and repositories is current. Docs
Map each source to its destination, per service, grouped by app. Note every rename. Docs
For each DynamoDB mapping, decide the TTL policy: keep every item, or leave out items expired at the cutoff. Docs
For large buckets, decide between sync and S3 Batch Operations; Douklar suggests one from your thresholds. Docs
If the source account needs a permission, send its admin the exact statement Douklar gives you. Docs

Run preflight and resolve every item it raises: destinations, KMS keys, TTL, overlap, credential expiry. Docs
Read the plan for each service on Review, then start the run. Docs
Watch the worker’s logs live until the run ends. Docs

Read the verification results for each service. Docs
Open the run in Activity: attempted, succeeded, skipped and failed per service. Docs
Retry only what failed, or re-run the whole move, from the recorded request. Docs
For ECR, run douklar check run --exit-code to confirm the destination holds the expected versions. Docs
